Think Smart! Cell Phone Thiefs Coast to Coast

So as I am leaving Penn Station, I see a very professional dressed lady talking freely on her cell, within minutes here comes Mr. Thief... shocking, it happen so fast I couldn't even describe the thief. The police were already on site.

No cell phone recovery for the victim....THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU!

"Nearly half of all robberies in San Francisco this year are cellphone-related, police say, and most occur on bustling transit lines.

One thief recently snatched a smartphone while sitting right behind his unsuspecting victim and darted out the rear of a bus in mere seconds.

Another robber grabbed an iPhone from an oblivious bus rider — while she was still talking."

Talk About Excellent Service...

Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV. USA

Support our troops!

More than 90 percent of students have one or both parents in the military who can be called for deployment at a moment's notice. For children of active-duty airmen and women, long deployments can be a stressful and trying time.

Nellis AFB, elementary school has its own challenges...

However, children from military families are quite tough and hide their emotions well, said third-grade teacher Allison Mesina, who has a husband serving in the Middle East.

"It's difficult, but they're resilient," she said. "They make good friends and connections. We make it work."

Unhappy Lonttime Hotwire.com Customer

Personally, I have seen the decline in quality with Hotwire.com. Member since 2005, I no longer use this booking service. Don't get me wrong, I used to book 10-15 times a year, things were swell. I started noticing the hotel locations were off, the quality of hotels were misleading.

The hotel staff clearly let me know, in multiple cities, the rooms book with Hotwire are the basic rooms of the hotel. Around 2007-2008 I noticed a lot of hotels using hotwire were renovated, or under new management. Some of them were okay , some not. Overall, I give Hotwire a huge "thumbs down"!

Email to Hotwire:

"I am not happy with the Raddisson as a 3.5 star hotel.
This is not a 3.5 star hotel and I have stayed there via hotwire and will not be checking in for 2 days there. I was convienently disconnected with your customer care.

Thank you

Examples: Hilton, Millennium, Crowne Plaza, plus other top brands and quality hotels.

  • These distinctive establishments offer a higher level of service than most midscale properties, and larger or higher-quality rooms. The lobbies, public areas and exterior are also of higher quality than hotels with lower star ratings.
  • These properties usually offer many of the features and amenities of upscale hotels, such as restaurants, room service, baggage handling, and a fitness or business center.
  • These properties are frequently located near business centers, attractions or upscale residential areas.

Midscale 3-Star Hotels

Sample 3-star Room*

Criminal Investigators

Criminal investigators search pharmacy tied to meningitis outbreak

BOSTON -- Criminal investigators from the Food and Drug Administration were reportedly at the offices of the Massachusetts compounding pharmacy at the center of a nationwide fungal meningitis outbreak Tuesday, even as U.S. legislators demanded that the Department of Justice investigate whether the New England Compounding Center violated federal laws or regulations.

FDA agents were seen going in and out of the brick office building on Waverly Road in Framingham, Mass., according to reports from the Boston Globe newspaper. They were wearing jackets bearing the initials "FDA OCI," which stand for the FDA's Office of Criminal Investigations.

Meanwhile, Rep. Edward Markey, a Massachusetts Democrat, told the department in a letter that New England Compounding Center may have tried to skirt federal policy on the sale and distribution of controlled substances.

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Connecticut Democrat, also has asked the Justice Department to launch a criminal probe into the outbreak, which is linked to steroid shots distributed by NECC.
A spokesman for NECC had no comment on Markey's letter but says the company is cooperating in ongoing probes by other agencies.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says 233 illnesses, including 15 deaths, in 15 states are linked to the outbreak.
