Do Something! I Double Dare you....

Two questions we should start asking ourselves to make the community more united..... How can we help improve the quality of life for the elders in our community?  How can we help them continue to be independent, engaged and connected with our community?

These our two simple questions that rarely cross our minds and that we should act more on. We have a duty to the elder members of our communities. We can help them, and we should.

Simple things such as when your shopping and you see an elder struggling to reach a product or with there shopping bags, just say, "Hello ma'am or Sir, do you need any help today with your shopping?  I would love to be of assistance to you."

That can make them feel more with the community because lending a helping hand to a stranger makes them feel safe in there community knowing there are still some good kind people out there. The greatest thing you can do for our elderly neighbors’ is simply to befriend them.  Pop in for a hello and a chat when you have the time.

Many older people live alone, but all too often they have little outside company. For an hour a week you can be a breath of fresh air to them and enliven their day.  It seems like a small thing but it can make a big difference.

You can volunteer to read out loud, play board games,  play the piano and sing at a local nursing home or an extended care facility. Many seniors love to have visitors, especially if their family lives in a different city or state.

Being kind should be CONTAGIOUS...

Support our elderly community! I, promise you, it will make your life just a bit more rich!

Bringing Smiles to  Davita Dialysis

  1. That picture at the bottom about bringing smiles to the Davita Dialysis is soooooo amazing! When I was in the hospital it seems so lonely and like no one wanted to be there because everyone was gathered there for not always the best of news.. Its a great thing To be passing on smiles and letting the patients know there can still be sunshine inside hospitals! Keep up the amazing work! :)
